VINTAGE DULCIMER SCRAPBOOK

"These were taken in 2007 and are of a very old dulcimer that I found in Missouri 2 years ago.  David Schnaufer was very excited about it because the 6 fret on it is the 6 1/2.  He stayed at my home for a couple of days and played it with a pick and also bowed it.  It has a wonderful sound and he dated 1850-1860.  Ken Bloom evaluated it at Cullowhee 2007 and dates it 1840-1850."

"I was so thankful to have David here for that short time and we had scheduled a swap so he could put it in his collection, but when I didn't hear anymore from him I emailed only to learn of his illness.  What a sad day that was!  My plans are to put it in his museum when they get it finished at Blair School of Music, Memphis Tennessee."
