From Linda's Turlough O'Carolan's CD, "Songs of Ireland's National Composer." Linda has read much on O'Carolan and loves the history of the songs and times that he lived in. One of the best articles she read was published by the harpspectrum. The article is by Grainne Yeats, a nationally known Irish Harper who she had the privilege of talking with. Linda was granted permission to include this wonderful article in her book. Linda has also included historical notes on each piece, a chord shape sheet with explanation, a chord chart to help with fingerings and would consider it to be a beginner to intermediate book. It is tabbed for fingerpicking, but can be strummed. Easy to read, great arrangements in both musical notation and dulcimer TAB. All in DAd Tuning, fingerpicked style for intermediate to advanced level players.

Fanny Crosby was the most prolific of all the early hymn writers. In the period from 1870 till her death in 1915 she wrote between 8000 and 9000 gospel hymns. Fanny felt that writing hymns was her particular mission in life. She felt that sharing the gospel through song would reach even more people than sermons.
I have chosen 9 of her hymns and printed the hymn poems as well as dulcimer tab for beginner, intermediate and duet playing. I hope you get a blessing from the messages she brings in word as well as music. It was her belief that music is the language and voice of the heart and soul.
